Some transmissible diseases tend to be responsible for the greatest burden of morbidity and mortality in the poorest countries, and often contribute to the vicious circle of disease and poverty.
The program is focused on the research of some of these diseases in the context of the poorest countries, specifically emphasizing maternal and child health. Therefore, CRESIB is trying to better the health of poor-country populations, studying diseases, the agents that cause them, evaluating treatments and other control interventions.
