Recently, the scale of migrations from poor countries to developed countries has increased, becoming higher day by day.
This population usually presents health problems that are mainly a consequence of their low socio-economic status. Therefore, in comparison with the host population, this population demonstrates a higher incidence of mental health problems, tuberculosis, utilisation of public health resources, and a lower level of treatment compliance.
Research in health & migration has the goal of bettering immigrant populations' health in developed countries. Because of that we study health problems which are a consequence of their socio-economic status, or that are related to their immigrant condition. Thus, it is necessary to study the accessibility of these people to health services in developed countries, as well as the adequacy of the services provided to immigrants.
