Pre-award Manager & Grants Coordinator


The Barcelona Centre for International Health Research (CRESIB) is a new global health research institute developed from some of the leading academic and biomedical research institutions in Barcelona, together with the Catalan Government, as a response to emerging international health challenges.

CRESIB was founded in July 2006 by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), Hospital Clínic de Barcelona (HCB) and the Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS). The centre is located in a privileged scientific environment, alongside the HCB, IDIBAPS and the Campus of the Facultat de Medicina-Clínic August Pi i Sunyer of the UB.

CRESIB's scientific agenda includes the study of poverty-related diseases, emerging, reemerging and immuno-preventable diseases, health & migration, and health & climate.

CRESIB promotes a multidisciplinary approach and excellence in research, and also collaborates with other research centres from developed and less-developed countries.

CRESIB is seeking a Pre-award Manager & Grants Coordinator for its Project Management Department in Barcelona (“OCI”).

Purpose and basic functions:


  • To lead, plan and coordinate fundraising policy and opportunities, according to the objectives of the strategic plan and needs of the organization, with the staff of the Centre for International Health (researchers, project management team, project’s director).
  • To analyze and disseminate key information on donors, calls for proposals and funding opportunities for international health projects and initiatives.
  • To contribute to the general functioning and organization of the project management department (research and international cooperation projects) as a responsible of the Pre-award Phase.
Specific Functions:

  • To find and pro-actively disseminate calls for public or private funding, at national (ISCIII, AECID, MICINN, FP7) or international level.
  • To coordinate and plan project proposals (multicentered projects) including: setting partners consortiums, external support for proposal drafting, management and monitoring of the work plan (tasks, responsibilities, delays, deadlines).
  • To support the preparation of international cooperation proposals (methodology).
  • To propose and implement improvements related to procedures (progress reports, indicators, etc), in coordination with Grants controller and Grants assistant.
  • To support during the process of application preparation: calls for projects in research and / or international cooperation for development, including: compliance of proposals to calls, norms and regulations, contractual procedures and obligations, forecast and control of deadlines. Analysis of legal and administrative issues derived from contracts and grants (records, institutional documentation, etc...); support in budgeting, proposal delivery; follow up of sponsors approval, reception, etc.
  • Communication and coordination with donors, researchers, Portfolio Advisors (focal person for project management once granted), team projects for project amendments and administrative or budgetary changes in grants and contracts.
  • SAP Grant Management data base update.
  • Donors, key contacts and stakeholders data base update.
  • Grants and contracts file management and update (paper and electronic files).
  • Management of internal and external signatures procedure of grants and contracts in a multi-institutional environment.
  • Drafting, negotiating and overseeing contracts with donors (subcontracts, partners in consortia, etc).
  • Focal Person for Corporació Clínic legal advisors and Scientific Coordination (CRESIB).

Education:


  • University degree preferably in Law, Public Administration and other post degree related fields (eg.: International cooperation, research management).
  • Spoken and written English and Spanish.
  • Experience in grants preparation, contract management in the fields of Research or International Cooperation.
